5 Awesome Japanese Maples

Here are two of our most popular Japanese Maple varieties. We’ve also included three exciting brand new varieties for those japanese maple addicts out there!

Coral Bark Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum ‘Sango-kaku’

Coral Bark Japanese Maple
Summer Foliage Winter Bark

Most noted for its beautiful red bark which gives this variety fantastic winter interest. It has an upright vase shaped habit that fits well in smaller back yards while still being wide enough to offer shade. Almost ferny leaves emerge yellow-green with reddish margins in spring, mature to light green by summer and turn yellow-gold in fall. Medium growing. This is one of the first maples to start turning fall colors making it have one of the longest seasons for fall color. This would look great as a focal point in the front yard, especially if it was lit up at night.
